Large Fines for Driving Without a License, According to Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs
We plan to classify as administrative violations all cases where a driver does not have the right to drive a vehicle but operates one anyway. Currently, there are no sanctions for such cases, and we propose a fine of 200,000 drams. This was announced today in the National Assembly by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Armen Mkrtchyan.
According to him, in several articles concerning administrative violations where driving a vehicle previously led to criminal liability, we are adding provisions and sanctions for administrative violations. This includes instances where a disabled driver operates a vehicle, and additionally commits another administrative violation, such as passing a red light; in this case, an administrative fine will also be imposed.
