Heavy Snowfall Expected: Accumulation May Reach 30-40 cm
Due to the active cyclone's penetration, precipitation is expected throughout the entire territory of the republic starting from the evening of April 14, continuing on April 15-16. This information is provided by the Hydro-Meteorological and Monitoring Center.
In Shirak, Lori, the foothills of Tavush, the mountainous areas of Aragatsotn, Kotayk, and Vayots Dzor, as well as in Gegharkunik and the mountainous and foothill regions of Syunik, heavy snowfall is anticipated. In some mountainous regions, the snow cover may reach 30-40 cm or more.
In the valley and foothill areas of the republic, where fruit trees are currently blooming, frost damage is not expected. From April 17-19, precipitation will temporarily cease, and the air temperature in all regions will gradually increase by 10-12 degrees.
In Yerevan, rain is expected intermittently during the evening of April 14 and on April 15-16. The weather is anticipated to be dry from April 17-19.
In the regions during the day of April 14 and on April 15-16, precipitation is expected in most areas, with heavy rainfall in some areas during the night of April 17. In the mountainous regions and the foothills of Lori, Tavush, and Syunik, snow will fall. On April 17 during the day and on April 18-19, dry weather is expected.
Winds will be southwesterly at 2-5 m/s, with some local areas experiencing wind gusts of 14-17 m/s from April 14-16. The air temperature during the day on April 15 will decrease by 2-4 degrees and then gradually increase by 10-12 degrees from April 17-19.
