YouTube Plans to Limit Viewing Time for Shorts

YouTube has proposed implementing a timer feature to restrict the viewing time of Shorts, the platform's short, vertical videos.

“If you regularly spend time on social networks or video platforms, there's a good chance you've fallen into the trap of mindlessly scrolling through short videos,” experts say.

Users will be able to set a timer, after which the endless viewing of such videos will pause. YouTube representatives have confirmed to TechCrunch that they are developing this feature, but it has not yet been publicly tested.
