Frost in Turkey
In recent days, Turkey has recorded the lowest temperatures in the last decade. This was reported on social media by the country’s Minister of Agriculture, Ibrahim Yumakl.
According to him, between April 10-12, temperatures in some areas dropped to -15 degrees Celsius, accompanied by snow and hail. Such frost conditions have not been observed in the republic since 2014.
“As a result of these unfavorable weather conditions, we are unfortunately experiencing one of the largest frost incidents in our history, following the significant agricultural frost of 2014,” Yumakl wrote.
The sharp drop in temperatures has caused significant damage to agricultural enterprises. Almond and walnut plantings, as well as vineyards, potato, and onion fields have been affected. According to the minister, the state intends to support farmers affected by the weather.
