The White House has stated that the meeting in St. Petersburg between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Joe Biden's special envoy Stephen Wittkoff is viewed as another step toward a ceasefire and the ultimate resolution of the conflict in Ukraine, reports The New York Times.
At the same time, the White House spokesperson noted that the U.S. president is frustrated with the actions of Moscow and Kyiv.
Additionally, the U.S. president wrote on his Truth Social page: “I call on Russia to act, as too many people are dying. The ongoing war in Ukraine is horrific and senseless,” he stated.
