Russia and the USA Conduct Prisoner Exchange

Russia and the USA have conducted a prisoner exchange in Abu Dhabi. Negotiations for the exchange were led by CIA Director John Ratcliffe and a senior official from the Russian intelligence service.

According to reports, the USA has released Russian citizen Arthur Petrov, who was detained in Cyprus at the request of the USA in 2023 for alleged microelectronics export violations. In return, Russia has released American citizen Ksenia Karelin, who was sentenced to 12 years in a high-security prison last year.
