Police Chief Reports on Traffic Accident Casualties in Armenia
In 2024, Armenia recorded 4,314 traffic accidents resulting in fatalities and injuries, with 333 people losing their lives. This announcement was made by the Chief of Police, Aram Hovhannisyan.
According to him, a total of 6,116 individuals sustained bodily injuries.
“Compared to the previous year, the number of accidents has decreased by 299, while the number of fatalities has dropped by 45, and those with bodily injuries has reduced by 421,” Hovhannisyan stated.
He also noted that when comparing the traffic accident statistics from 2024 to those in 2015, along with the corresponding increase in registered vehicles in Armenia, it becomes clear that the number of registered vehicles has risen by approximately 400,000 or 73.7 percent since 2015.
Furthermore, he highlighted that there has been an increase of 915 traffic accidents in 2024 compared to 2015, reflecting a 26.9 percent rise.
