Calm Down. The Vice President of the FFA Lost His Cool
The Vice President of the Football Federation of Armenia, Armen Nikoghosyan, is displeased when he and other high-ranking officials of the FFA are accused of theft. He stated, “Many people are talking; some are pulled out of bed, others out of coffins. Those who have been the biggest thieves in this country are trying to associate us with theft. A former official, who has taken $50 in bribes, is trying to connect us to the crime—who are the real thieves? Oh, the corrupt ones,” he declared indignantly during a meeting with reporters.
When reporters urged him to speak name by name, he lost his temper. “Calm down, if I’ve started, I will finish. Sit down quietly, maybe your names will be given too; just sit down and wait,” he shouted at the vice president of the FFA, then continued, “Of course, I will give names. The former president of the federation, Suren Abrahamyan, accused us of various things. He said that Ruben Hayrapetyan left $22 million on a bank account, shouting, ‘Where is the money?’ The man is probably living in senile confusion and has forgotten everything; they told him to talk, and he speaks without understanding.”
