Armenian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Responds to Azerbaijan's Accusations

The spokesperson for the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ani Badalyan, in response to media inquiries regarding Azerbaijan's demands for demining maps, stated that Armenia has unilaterally provided Azerbaijan with a register of 972 minefields on June 12, July 3, October 19, November 1, and November 29, 2021, without any preconditions.

“Emphasizing the importance of addressing humanitarian issues, Armenia has unilaterally provided Azerbaijan with a register of minefields on June 12, July 3, October 19, November 1, and November 29, 2021, without any preconditions. Moreover, remaining committed to the principles of cooperation on humanitarian matters, Armenia has compiled and will transfer new registers of minefields to Azerbaijan at the beginning of 2024 through inquiries.”

Azerbaijan has continually questioned the accuracy of these maps despite Armenia's numerous statements that there are “no better or more accurate” maps available. Armenia, as before and now, is ready to verify the accuracy of these maps with the involvement of international experts.

It should be noted that the International Court of Justice has unequivocally rejected Azerbaijan's request for provisional measures against Armenia, in which Azerbaijan accused Armenia of mining activities.
