Armenia and Azerbaijan Halt Inter-State Investigations, Interior Ministry Says
Recently, discussions have been taking place among the public, particularly on social media and news websites, regarding Armenia's withdrawal from investigations into Azerbaijani citizens.
In this regard, Armenpress requested a comment from the Public Communications and Information Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“Based on an agreement reached between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan back in 2007, the parties have agreed to halt inter-state investigations declared against the citizens of the two countries in the territory of member states of the CIS based on the principle of reciprocity. Considering this agreement and the fact that the parties have not violated the achieved understanding since 2007, in 2024, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to the cessation/non-declaration of inter-state investigations in the territory of CIS member states based on the principle of reciprocity,” the department stated.
