You Did Something No One Has Done in 2000 Years: Trump to Erdogan

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that he could mediate between Israel and Turkey, who may clash over influence in Syria, reports The Times of Israel.

Trump noted that he has excellent relations with Turkish President Erdogan, whom he "likes a lot" and considers to be "very smart." He stated that he congratulated Erdogan "for something that no one has done in 2000 years" regarding the conquest of Syria.

Trump mentioned that the Turkish president confessed to him that he was responsible for the overthrow of Assad's government in Syria. "I told him (Erdogan), 'You did something no one has done in 2000 years. You established control in Syria.' He tried to tell me, 'No, no, no, I didn't.' But then he responded, 'Yes, maybe it was me,'" said Trump.
