That country has caused us tremendous damage: Peskov
When discussing arms control with the US, it is impossible to disregard the nuclear arsenals of other countries. This was stated to reporters by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia, as reported by TASS.
"I would like to remind you, in due time, of the statements made by the President of Russia and the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Our experts have talked about the modified conditions under which, in the current configuration related to security architecture, it is certainly impossible to eliminate the nuclear potentials of other countries and to discuss all of this. Above all, trust is needed; we have been caused tremendous damage by that country's previous administration," Peskov said.
It is worth noting that April 8 marks the 15th anniversary of the Strategic Offensive Arms Reduction Treaty (SORT or New START). This treaty imposed restrictions on the number of intercontinental ballistic missiles and certain other missiles, as well as nuclear warheads for both Russia and the US.
