Iran Will Never Take That Path: Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Iran does not develop nuclear weapons as it is prohibited by the country's leadership. The official representative of the Islamic Republic's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmail Baghaei, made this statement in response to a proposal by Iranian Parliament member Mohammad Qasim Osmani, who suggested the creation of an atomic bomb to ensure equality in negotiations with the West, as reported by TASS.

It should be noted that Osmani, discussing the necessity of developing nuclear weapons, argued that Iran has no choice and can only protect its national security through nuclear deterrence.

“Iran will never, under any circumstances, take the path of creating nuclear weapons. This is an integral part of our strategy,” Baghaei stated.

According to him, reports from the International Atomic Energy Agency confirm the peaceful nature of Tehran's nuclear program.

“As early as 1984, more than 40 years ago, the leadership of the Zionist regime first declared that Iran was developing a dangerous military component of its nuclear program. These accusations were initially aimed at creating anti-Iranian sentiments and stifling Iran's technological and industrial progress,” Baghaei added.
