Several Convicts Transferred to Other Prisons, Some to the 'NSS Isolation Facility': Haykakan Zhamanak

The newspaper "Haykakan Zhamanak" reports: "Justice Minister Surbuhi Galoyan has launched a new war against individuals involved in criminal subcultures. For several days now, special forces have been storming specific cells in Armenian prisons and turning them upside down.

According to information obtained by the newspaper, as a result of these operations, convicts have been relocated to other prisons. But that’s not all; some convicts have been sent as punishment to Yerevan Central Penitentiary, also known as the 'NSS isolation facility'. Among those well-known in Armenian prisons are 'Zil Davo', Mushegh Manucharyan, and Gegham Baghdasaryan, who have spearheaded operations to suppress convicts, resulting in their relocation to other prisons.

It is noteworthy that, in response to the outrageous situation, the Penitentiary Service announced: 'We received information regarding one of the convicts in the "Nubarashen" penitentiary of the Ministry of Justice of Armenia, who, in order to gain advantages over other detainees, has been disrupting the normal functioning of the facility for an extended period. He regularly makes illegal demands and incites other detainees to make similar illegal demands. After investigating this information, the Penitentiary Service decided to transfer the convict inciting illegalities and discord to another penitentiary. In support of him, some detainees and life-sentenced convicts have shown disobedience, damaging property in the cells, setting mattresses on fire, banging on doors, and so on.'"
