Threats to Bomb Iran's Nuclear and Energy Facilities Unacceptable, says Zakharova

Threats to bomb Iran’s nuclear and energy infrastructure are unacceptable, and Moscow advocates for a diplomatic resolution to the misunderstandings between Iran and the West. This was stated by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

“Threats emanating from abroad, such as those regarding bombings of Iranian nuclear and energy facilities, which would inevitably lead to large-scale and irreversible radiological consequences for the entire Middle Eastern region and the world in general, are simply unacceptable,” she said during a briefing.

As noted by the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Moscow supports searching for diplomatic solutions to the conflicts between Iran and Western countries and seeks stable negotiation outcomes. “This will eliminate Western prejudices and misunderstandings regarding Iran’s nuclear program, while also considering Tehran’s legitimate interests in the peaceful use of nuclear energy, which derives from Tehran’s participation in the non-proliferation treaty,” she emphasized.

Previously, U.S. President Donald Trump threatened unprecedented bombings in an interview with NBC News if the U.S. and Iran did not conclude an agreement regarding the nuclear program.
