Sobhani on the Situation Surrounding Syunik

The situation surrounding the Syunik region is intricately linked to Iranian interests, and thus any changes to borders are unacceptable for Tehran. This was stated by Mehdi Sobhani, the Iranian ambassador to Armenia, at the international conference "Hayk-Iran: Millennia of Friendship."

He added, "The border between Armenia and Iran is considered one of the safest. We have never felt any danger from Armenia, nor has Armenia felt any from us."
