US Senator Sets Record with 25-Hour Speech

A record for the longest speech in the history of the US Senate has been broken by Democratic Senator Cory Booker, who spoke for over a day against the current Republican President, Donald Trump, according to the Associated Press.
Booker began his speech on Monday evening, March 31, and only concluded it more than 25 hours later when he left the chamber. With this, he surpassed the record set 67 years ago by South Carolina Senator Strom Thurmond, who spent 24 hours and 18 minutes presenting the Civil Rights Act in 1957.
