New Restrictions for Drivers in Russia
No one can work as a driver in Russia without a Russian driver's license. This was announced by Tatevik Bejanian, an expert in the migration program of the Armenian Caritas organization, during a press conference held in the Armenpress press hall.
According to her, foreign nationals with residency rights previously could exchange their national driver's licenses for Russian ones without taking a test. "As of April 1, this regulation is no longer in effect, and regardless of whether they have residency status or dual citizenship, in order to obtain a Russian driver's license, they must pass a test," Bejanian notes.
The expert emphasizes that the change applies to those who need to work as drivers, conducting passenger transportation and freight transport.
