Under What Circumstances Will Families Not Benefit from the New Poverty Assessment System?
The new poverty assessment system for families implemented by the Armenian government has established a new factor that excludes the provision of social assistance. This decision was made during today's cabinet meeting.
"If one of the family members is a guarantor under a security agreement for fulfilling a loan contract and if the amount of the guarantee exceeds 100,000 AMD or its equivalent in foreign currency, then they will not receive assistance," the decision states.
These provisions are expected to apply to applications submitted after April 21 of this year.
It is noted that the procedure, conditions, and regulations for obtaining and providing information from state and local governmental bodies and organizations regarding the new poverty assessment system were approved by the Armenian government on January 9 of this year.
The new system is being implemented in the Kotayk and Syunik regions starting from March 17, 2025, and will be rolled out across the entire republic as of January 1, 2026.
