Recount of Ballots to Occur in Several Areas of Gyumri
Due to technical inaccuracies, a recount of ballots will take place in several precincts of Gyumri. This was stated by Tigran Ghazaryan, the chairman of the number 31 electoral commission, during an extraordinary meeting held today.
It is noted that the recount is primarily due to a technical issue. “Five precincts have recorded inaccuracies in the reports regarding the number of issued receipts. This is mainly a technical matter concerning the numbered receipts provided by the commission, but we will conduct a recount regardless to eliminate any discussions about inaccuracies. These precincts are 31/22, 31/70, 31/67, 31/50, and 31/41,” Ghazaryan stated, adding that a recount could also randomly be conducted in three additional precincts.
Tigran Ghazaryan mentioned that the number 31 electoral commission has not yet received any requests for a recount from civil forces. They can submit such requests until April 1 at 11:00 AM.
Regarding the election process, Tigran Ghazaryan informed that no written complaints about electoral violations have been received from any political forces so far. “There has been a complaint from the ‘Civil Contract’ party, which related not to the electoral process but to campaigning on the election day. We will review these facts. We also received a letter from the police stating that they received a call from a citizen who complained that the head of the commission is not managing their functions properly,” stated the chairman of the number 31 electoral commission.
