In a response letter to U.S. President Donald Trump, Iranian authorities have refused to engage in direct negotiations. This was stated by the President of the Islamic Republic, Masoud Pezeshkian, as reported by IRNA.
He added that the letter also mentions that there is still an opportunity to continue dialogue between Iran and the U.S. through mediators.
Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran is not avoiding negotiations, and it is the violation of commitments by Washington that has caused issues in the process.
On March 28, Trump stated that "bad things could happen" with Iran if the authorities of the republic do not reach an agreement with Washington regarding Tehran's nuclear program.
