No Longer Are Winners of Elections Decided in Closed Rooms, Says Parliament Speaker
The fact that even local self-government elections are taking place in such an extremely interesting and unpredictable scenario speaks volumes about the establishment of another democratic institution in Armenia. This was stated by the spokesperson of the National Assembly speaker, Movses Harutyunyan, on his Facebook page.
"It is once again proven that in Armenia, winners of elections are no longer decided in some closed rooms and imposed on the public; only citizens have the authority to decide which political force will win in the elections," he wrote.
It is noteworthy that today, March 30, at 8:00 AM, polling stations opened in the Parakar community in the Armavir region and in the Gyumri community in the Shirak region. The elections will last until 8:00 PM.
