Trump's Letter Contains Threats, Says Araqchi

The letter from U.S. President Donald Trump to Tehran contained threats that the Islamic Republic considers unacceptable, stated Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.

"There were elements in the message that could be interpreted as threats. We will not allow anyone to speak to the Iranian people in a language of ultimatums. However, despite this, we have done everything to leave room for diplomacy," he said.

In early March, Donald Trump announced that he had sent a letter to Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, expressing his preference for resolving the nuclear issue peacefully.
