"May the Words of My Mouth Be Pleasing to You": Andranik Kocharyan
"May the words of my mouth be pleasing to you" Journalist Hripstime Jebejyan was offended by my suggestion to clean her lips before speaking. But this suggestion was literally repeating the well-known spiritual leader's advice to the same journalist. It seemed that she was not offended by that well-known spiritual leader’s advice; on the contrary, she accepted it with a humble smile. This was written on his Facebook page by My Step Alliance MP Andranik Kocharyan.
“Of course, I understand very well that some opposition figures and a few journalists serving their interests are trying to misinterpret the meaning of my words in order to create a new reason for tension and exploit my name. However, I am confident that this unpleasant incident would not have become a matter of public discussion if journalist H. Jebejyan had, in turn, adhered to the basic rules of professional ethics.
It must be said very straightforwardly that a small number of representatives from the journalistic community who organized a signature campaign against me also have issues with upholding ethical norms. They can pursue you in any area, deliberately violate your personal space, ask provocative questions that offend human dignity… I won’t enumerate everything. Agree that texts written or spoken with misinformation and malice have no connection to journalism. And I merely reminded one sensationalist journalist of a sentence I said months ago, the meaning of which was that a journalist's words should be pure, free from deceit, hatred, and manipulations. I leave the rest of the conclusions and deductions to you. Each person can find a meaning in my words corresponding to their level of education, morality, and upbringing.
And finally, let me quote two passages from the Bible without comment for all of us: 1. Psalm 18, which states, "May the words of my mouth be pleasing to you, and the thoughts of my heart be always before you." 2. The Gospel of Matthew: "Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They don't wash their hands before they eat!" Jesus replied, "Listen and understand: what goes into someone's mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them,"” he wrote.
