Failure to Meet Conditions by Armenia Will Lead to 'Escalation' on the Frontline: Abrahamyan

In recent days, Azerbaijan has been systematically violating the ceasefire regime at various points along the front and attempting to attribute these actions to the Armenian side. This was stated by the secretary of the 'I Have Honor' faction in the National Assembly, Tigran Abrahamyan, on Facebook.

He noted, "The Ministry of Defense's response regarding their reports only during 'dangerous shooting' times clearly indicates that violations are occurring, but they are sporadic in nature. There is a pattern in the directions of the border where Azerbaijan has been active recently. These incidents occur at almost the same times and with the same frequency, proving that they are systematic and premeditated in nature.

The government has taken a wrong and, I would say, even dangerous position by not communicating these reports, as it is crucial for the negotiation nuances, building proper relationships with the public, and providing an objective assessment of the situation to convey official information.

Azerbaijan is solving various problems with this step, among which I would highlight three: First, they threaten that Armenia's failure to meet their next conditions will lead to 'escalation' on the frontline. Second, they are applying pressure and methods of intimidation against the residents of border villages to achieve their demands, thereby attempting to influence the entire society. Third, not responding to the enemy's sporadic fire poses risks, negatively impacting the morale and psychological state of the troops.

The Ministry of Defense indirectly justifies its lack of response by the need not to provide a 'provocation opportunity,' which I do not agree with, because if Azerbaijan aims to escalate the situation and resort to provocations, they will undoubtedly find an opportunity to do so," he wrote.
