Strong Magnetic Storm Expected on March 23
Sergei Bogachov, head of the Solar Astronomy Laboratory at the Institute of Space Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences, told RIA Novosti that strong magnetic storms are anticipated on Sunday morning, from 3:00 AM to 6:00 AM Moscow time.
The plasma cloud was ejected on March 21 due to an M1.2 level solar flare. Although this event is categorized as medium level, measurements have recorded exceptionally high speed and mass of the ejection.
It is noteworthy that such parameters have not been observed since 2025. The flare disrupted the balance of a major coronal mass ejection, directing the dense cold plasma towards Earth.
