Russia Concerned About Increasing NATO Exercise Participation Numbers – Russian Foreign Ministry

The Director of the Third Department for Asia at the Russian Foreign Ministry, Lyudmila Vorobyova, has stated that Russia is concerned about the increasing number of participants in NATO exercises in the Asia-Pacific region. According to her, the West has adopted a deliberate course towards the "NATOfication" of Asia.

During these exercises, scenarios are being developed that could lead to military interventions and "total war." Vorobyova noted, "Visible are attempts to ensure a permanent presence of the alliance's striking air forces through rotational schemes." Japan is cited as a staunch supporter of this approach.

"We are witnessing an increase in the intensity of joint exercises between Tokyo and European countries from outside the region," the Foreign Ministry representative pointed out. Meanwhile, Russian authorities are expanding cooperation in Asia with partners, including China, in the interest of "strengthening peace and stability."
