When will the referendum for the new Constitution take place: Nikol Pashinyan

We will propose to our people to have a new Constitution, and we plan to hold the referendum for the adoption of the new Constitution in 2027, said Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in an interview with Public Television.

“However, I should also mention that there are, including in the political team, voices and opinions about why we are postponing this action, perhaps it should be done alongside the regular parliamentary elections in 2026, which would make it more politically relevant. And I want to emphasize that this is exclusively a matter of our internal agenda, although I must also admit that it cannot be without regional and international implications. Therefore, addressing the issue of whether Azerbaijan may put forward new demands, returning to the peace agenda, Azerbaijan may bring new questions to the agenda, but it does not mean that all these issues are negotiable for us,” said the Prime Minister.
