Trump Personally Monitors US Airstrikes in Yemen
US President Donald Trump is personally monitoring American military airstrikes aimed at Yemen. This information comes from an official statement released by the White House.
On Saturday, Trump announced that he has ordered American military forces to begin "decisive and powerful" actions against the Houthi Shiite movement, which is in control of northern Yemen. Trump also called on Iran to cease its support for the Houthis and not threaten "the American people and their president."
The US Central Command has reported that the country has launched a large-scale operation against the Houthis in Yemen to protect American interests.
The White House's post on X is accompanied by photographs of Trump. One photo shows the American leader with a headset on a microphone, while another depicts him looking at a monitor. "President Trump is taking measures against the Houthis to protect American ships and prevent terrorist threats," the statement reads.
Currently, US military airstrikes continue in Yemen. Attacks are again being carried out on the northern Saada province, which is considered a Houthi stronghold. Strikes have also been targeted at Marib province in the northeast of the country, which is partially under the control of Yemen's internationally recognized government.
Earlier, a source in Yemen told RIA Novosti that as a result of US airstrikes on densely populated areas in the capital, Sana'a, 30 people have died, and over 100 have been injured. Victims were reported in the city of Saada, including 4 children and one woman, as a result of the bombing of two residential buildings in the north of the city.
