Houthi Forces Promise Escalatory Response to U.S. Strikes
Yemen’s Ansar Allah (Houthi) movement has announced that it is fully prepared to respond with escalation to the American airstrikes targeting the region. The statement was made by the Houthi political bureau and reported by Al Masirah TV channel.
“The aggression will not go unanswered. Our armed forces in Yemen are ready to counter escalation with escalation,” the political bureau stated.
Earlier, Al Hadath TV reported that Houthi positions in Sana’a had been subjected to massive missile strikes. U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that he ordered American military forces to commence “decisive and powerful” actions against the Houthis.
According to the Houthi government’s health ministry, there are casualties and injuries resulting from the U.S. airstrikes in the direction of Sana’a.
The Ansar Allah movement, which governs northern Yemen, may strike U.S. military bases in the UAE or Djibouti as retaliation for the American military operations that have commenced in Yemen. This was revealed to the Washington Post by Yemeni analyst Mohammed al-Bashan.
“Al-Bashan warned that the Houthis may attempt to target American bases in the UAE or Djibouti as retribution,” the newspaper reported. Currently, U.S. military aviation strikes continue over Yemeni territory, with assaults again being carried out on Northern Saada, which is considered a Houthi stronghold, as well as strikes on the Marib province in the northeast, which is partially under the control of Yemen's internationally recognized government.
