Netanyahu Proposes Dismissal of Israel's Security Agency Chief

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Sunday that he will recommend the dismissal of the head of the Shin Bet security agency, Ronen Bar, due to a loss of confidence in his leadership.

“Israeli citizens, we are at war for our existence—a war on seven fronts. At any moment, especially during such an existential war, the Prime Minister must have complete confidence in the head of the Shin Bet,” Netanyahu said in a video address.

Netanyahu pointed out that over time, a “significant lack of trust” has developed towards Ronen Bar.
