Russian Foreign Ministry on Armenia and Azerbaijan Relations

The Russian side welcomes the conclusion of negotiations on the text of the draft peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"We welcome the conclusion of negotiations on the text of the draft peace agreement between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia and the establishment of interstate relations. We support this important step aimed at a complete and comprehensive settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, as outlined in the trilateral agreements of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia from 2020 to 2022," said the diplomat.

According to her, the Russian side is ready to provide a platform for communications between representatives of Azerbaijan and Armenia to regulate the entire range of bilateral relations and to sign a peace treaty.

"We reaffirm our proposal to provide a Russian platform for discussions on all issues related to the regulation of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, as well as for the signing of a peace treaty," noted the diplomat.

Russia aims to facilitate the signing of a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia and the unblocking of transport communications in the region, the statement continued.

"We aim to provide all possible assistance to advance the peace process and resolve the remaining issues between Baku and Yerevan, including for the signing of a peace agreement, as well as the unblocking of transport communications, delimitation of the common border, and humanitarian issues in a manner and form acceptable to our partners," the diplomat added.
