Guarantees for Ukraine from 30 Countries: Macron
French President Emmanuel Macron called on the Chiefs of Staff of around 30 countries gathered in Paris on Tuesday to start developing a plan that outlines "reliable security guarantees" for Ukraine. This was reported by Interfax.
"Given the acceleration of peace negotiations," the president clarified that "today we must move from the concept to a plan to establish reliable security guarantees, so that a stable and robust peace becomes possible in Ukraine," as stated in a communiqué released by the Élysée Palace after the meeting, which was cited by French media.
It was also reported that the meeting participants agreed that security guarantees "should not be separated from NATO and its capabilities." The international meeting of military leaders, who are "ready to guarantee future peace in Ukraine," was held at Macron's initiative.
