„Does Pashinyan Hate the Armenian Nation?“: Protest Rally in Front of Government

Today, entrepreneurs are once again gathering in front of the government building. They are holding a protest rally against the decision to raise the turnover tax from 5% to 10%.

“Mr. Papoyan promised us that he would organize meetings soon, that proposals would be made, but we have yet to see any positive steps; that’s why we have come together for this protest again. He said he would discuss and listen to our proposals and bring them forward. Besides the turnover tax, there’s the issue of inventorying, which is going to be a terror and an attack on small and medium-sized businesses,” said a participant in the rally during a conversation with reporters.

Responding to the actions of the Armenian authorities and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s statement that he was brought to power by the people, and if necessary, the people would also remove him, the protest participant noted that now probably only about 10% of voters believe in the prime minister. “In 2018, maybe only 10% of the people didn’t want Nikol Pashinyan, but now quite a lot may want him for some benefit, I don’t know. I’m starting to think that Mr. Pashinyan perhaps hates the Armenian nation. This trouble is being inflicted from all sides, not just on the entrepreneurs. There will be depopulation, Armenia will become empty. A little bit of people started working, and he wants to pressure them again to leave. It’s impossible to work under this terror in this country. We demand a meeting only with Nikol Pashinyan, because no one else is responding,” the participant added.

According to him, many entrepreneurs have goods that have been in their possession for 10 years. They have brought these goods, cleared them through customs, paid VAT, and yet the goods have not been sold.
