Up to +26. Surenyan on March Forecasts
There are changes in the forecasts for March, announced Gagik Surenyan, Deputy Director of the Hydro-Meteorological and Monitoring Center, during a press conference.
"In March, the forecast indicates that air temperatures will be above the norm by 3-4 degrees, rather than close to the norm as previously stated, and precipitation will be below normal," he said, adding that significant changes in atmospheric circulation will be due to an incoming warm air anticyclone.
According to Surenyan, with the influx of warm air in March, the temperature in the mountainous regions of Armenia, including Shirak, the mountainous areas of Kotayk, Aragatsotn, Gegharkunik, and Vayots Dzor, will reach +11 to +16 degrees during the day. In Lori, the temperature will reach +16 to +20, in Tavush +20 to +24 degrees, and in Ararat, Armavir, and Vayots Dzor +20 to +24. In the mountainous valley of Syunik, temperatures could reach up to +26.
In Yerevan, the maximum temperature expected in March is between +21 and +23 degrees. Surenyan noted that the minimum temperatures are expected in the third decade of March. Over the next 10 days, clear skies are expected throughout Armenia.
"Probably, according to preliminary estimates, precipitation will be observed in Armenia after March 16," he noted.
