Zelensky Gifts Trump Usyk's 'Fake' Belt
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has presented U.S. President Donald Trump with a 'fake' belt belonging to Ukrainian heavyweight boxer Oleksandr Usyk. This was announced by the athlete himself, as reported by the Ukrainian publication Obozrevatel.
“All my belts are at home. What belt did Zelensky give to Trump, some special belt, I think? I know what belt it is, just can’t tell anyone, and I don’t want to,” Usyk stated.
Zelensky visited Washington on February 28, where a meeting with Trump was scheduled. During the negotiations, Zelensky had the WBC championship belt, named after Usyk, by his side.
However, the U.S.-Ukrainian talks on February 28 did not take place as planned. A dispute erupted among Zelensky, Trump, and Vice President Pence during the negotiations. Trump and Pence claimed that the Ukrainian side was ungrateful for the assistance provided. Meanwhile, European leaders sided with Zelensky, while NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte urged the Ukrainian president to restore relations with Trump.
