We Could Return to November 9 and Repeat the Same Path: Secretary of the Security Council
What is the reasoning that the document of November 9 could prevent a possible war? This was noted today, February 20, during a conversation with journalists after a government meeting by Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan, addressing claims made by opposition figures that if we do not return to the November 9 document, particularly its 9th point, Azerbaijan may take the corridor by force.
“Armenia has been part of the November 9 declaration, and we have seen what has happened in Artsakh. What is the argument for that? How can people present such an argument? The November 9 declaration has not only that point but also 8 other articles, and we have seen what has occurred regarding them. Can anyone, whether a politician or not, deny that reality and say that we should return for just one more article? We could return and the same path could repeat as it has with the 8 associated points. Therefore, I do not share that opinion at all,” Grigoryan stated.
When asked why Armenia does not withdraw its signature from that declaration, the Secretary of the Security Council replied, “That is already a matter of another discussion. There are no other articles associated with the November 9 declaration, and this is the de facto reality.”
