Now When They Shoot, You'll All Come Out of Syunik. Simonyan
I do not mean that no one has fought for Artsakh, but I mean that they were calling and saying, 'We are leaving, we won’t stay here, open the border, we are leaving.' This was stated by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, during his extraordinary speech during the announcements period in the Parliament.
‘We say, ‘How can the soldier stand when you are all leaving, how are you leaving?’ They said, ‘No, no, no, open it, we are all leaving.’ Of course, when the shooting starts, everyone will leave, soon the shooting will begin, and you will all gather from Syunik and leave. So everyone must stay and defend their homeland. I bow my head to those people who have fallen and defended their homeland.
I apologize, but I cannot ignore those people who proclaimed the state with one signature and then declared it null, then refused to fight for it. I cannot overlook those so-called patriots who are hiding in Los Angeles, Tula, writing in Russian letters under any of my speeches ‘турк давачан’, ‘хохере хандзнецик’ and living in another country and left long ago,’ said Alen Simonyan.
He then noted that there are people who are heroes and have fought, and these heroes have been from the Diaspora, from Armenia, from Artsakh, but there were those in Artsakh and Armenia who left and fled. ‘The Republic of Armenia has done everything, and especially after the revolution, it has done much more and has lacked neither weapons nor anything else, so call things by their names. It should not have been left and run to Los Angeles, New York, and play patriotism from there or try to seize power and then say, “We are leaving from here, we must leave and flee.” An empty country will not be defended by any soldier; I did not say that, it is the truth,’ he concluded.
