How Many Electric Vehicles Can Be Imported to Armenia Without Customs Duty?
The State Revenue Committee of Armenia has issued a statement regarding electric vehicles.
"The State Revenue Committee informs that according to the decision No. 134 of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission dated November 24, 2023, a quota has been established for electric vehicles classified under code N 8703 80 000 2 for 0% import customs duty exemption for 8000 units in 2025. This distribution has been made by the Armenian government’s decision No. 1876-N dated November 28, 2024, as follows:
- Up to 3000 vehicles can be imported duty-free by entities signing a dealer-distributor agreement directly with the vehicle manufacturer.
- Up to 5000 vehicles can be imported by entities not mentioned in the first point (including individuals).
The Committee reports that as of February 28, 2025, a total of 454 vehicles have been processed under duty exemption, accounting for approximately 15% of the allocated quota (3000 vehicles) by entities importing directly under a dealer-distributor agreement with the vehicle manufacturer.
Additionally, 4795 vehicles, or about 96% of the allocated quota (5000 vehicles), have been imported by entities not mentioned in the first point.
