This Speaks of Azerbaijan's Atrocities: Arakelyan

“Ruben Vardanyan was compelled to attend the last court session while on hunger strike. This was stated by Mesrop Arakelyan, co-founder of the 'Country of Living' party.

“The traces of torture on his face, as well as the worsening of his condition during the court session, speak once again of Azerbaijan's atrocities, as per all international norms, citizens on hunger strike are exempt from attending court sessions. However, he was forced to participate in that court session,” he emphasized.

Arakelyan highlighted the importance of Ruben Vardanyan's decision to end his hunger strike. He stressed that the Armenian Foreign Ministry must take actions for compatriots in Baku. “At the same time, we understand that Azerbaijan's current behavior does not allow for this issue to be resolved solely by Armenia's efforts. However, Armenia must be the one to raise this issue in international arenas,” Arakelyan added.
