Café Demolished in the Opera Area

A café located at 2/2 Sayat-Nova Street has been demolished today. This was announced by Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan, who was also present to oversee the work.

“Demolition work is being carried out over an area of approximately 1000 square meters. This section will be completely transformed into a greener space, and the tenant will not be renewing their contract. They have handed over the entire area to the city,” said Avinyan.

He also noted that over the years, the green areas around the Opera have significantly decreased, while the number of cafés has increased. “Partial demolition work around the Opera had already begun a few years ago, and today we are continuing this undertaking. Step by step, we will be clearing different sections from the existing cafés, and we will have more green spaces,” Avinyan concluded.
