Zelensky Dismisses Commander of Ukraine's Joint Forces
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed an order to dismiss Brigadier General Andrey Kovalov from the position of Commander of the Joint Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The document was signed today and has already been published.
It is worth noting that Kovalov had previously served as the commander of the Eastern Operational Command, and he was appointed to the position of joint forces commander on June 24, 2024. A month ago, Zelensky removed Kovalov from the eastern front after Russian troops pushed the Ukrainian armed forces out of Donetsk's Velika Novosilka. Following this, Kovalov was sent to improve coordination at the headquarters and on the front lines, but the situation did not improve.
