Snow, Blizzard, and Black Ice on Roads
The Rescue Service reports that there are closed and difficult-to-pass roads within the territory of Armenia.
The roads leading from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station in Aragatsotn Province to the Kari Lake and Amberd Fortress are closed. The Berd-Chambarak road is closed to all types of vehicles, while the section called "Zanger" from the Jermuk junction is closed to trucks and truck trailers.
The road from the Yeraskh village turn to Vayots Dzor Province is closed to trucks. The Vardenyats Pass (M-10) is closed to trucks and truck trailers.
Inter-community roads in the villages of Geghanist, Mantash, and Arevshat in Shirak Province, as well as the Sisian-Goris and Goris-Shinuhayr-Tatev roads, are closed to all types of vehicles, while the Noravan-Tatev road is one-way.
The remaining roads in Syunik Province, the road leading from the M-3 highway to Lernapar, inter-community roads in the regions of Amasia and Ashotsk, as well as the Tashir-Dashtadem, Tashir-Katnarat (blizzard conditions), and Alagyaz-Artik roads are difficult to traverse for all types of vehicles.
There is black ice on the roads in Aragatsotn, Gegharkunik, and Syunik Provinces. Snow is falling in the Ashotsk region, and blizzards are reported in the Amasia, Ashotsk, and Aragats regions. Drivers are advised to use winter tires exclusively.
Regarding Lars, according to information received from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs Emergency Situation Department and the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations' North Ossetia crisis management center, the Stepanstmina-Lars road is closed to all types of vehicles.
