Gold Cards and 5 Million Dollars for Living in the USA
US President Donald Trump has announced that the United States will sell so-called "gold cards," granting foreigners the right to live and work in the USA. This was reported by Interfax.
"We are going to place a price tag of about 5 million dollars on this card, and it will give you the benefits of a green card, as well as citizenship. Wealthy people will come to our country and purchase this card," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office.
US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, who participated in the meeting, noted that the "gold card" will replace the government's EB-5 immigrant investor visa program. "Of course, they (the buyers) will have to undergo a background check," Lutnick added.
President Trump, in turn, suggested that sales of the cards could start in about two weeks. When asked if he would also sell these cards to Russian oligarchs, Trump responded, "Yes, possibly. I know a few Russian oligarchs—very nice people."
