Ruben Vardanyan's Condition Has Deteriorated Sharply: Lawyer

Ruben Vardanyan's condition has sharply deteriorated in Azerbaijan. This was reported on X by his international lawyer, Jared Genser.

“After a week of hunger strike, Ruben Vardanyan is facing serious health risks. He has lost 6 kg, his blood pressure has reached a dangerous level of 140/110, and his pulse significantly exceeds the norm. Despite this, he has been forcibly taken to court, where all requests to postpone the hearing have been denied, allowing him to participate only while seated,” he wrote.

Genser stated that forcing his client to participate in the trial under these conditions is a cruel and inhumane treatment. He urged international organizations to immediately demand permission to visit Vardanyan in prison, allow an international physician to examine him, and postpone the trial during the hunger strike. He also called on world leaders to condemn this politically motivated process.
