A New Category of the World's Rich Emerges: Who Is Leading?

Elon Musk has topped the list of super billionaires, a category that includes 24 individuals from around the globe, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The study highlights that we can now speak of a new category of wealth worldwide—the super billionaires. Each individual in this group has a fortune exceeding $50 billion.

The top five include Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, Tesla, and X, with $419.4 billion; Amazon founder Jeff Bezos with $263.8 billion; LVMH owner Bernard Arnault with $238.9 billion; Oracle CEO Larry Ellison with $237 billion; and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg with $220.8 billion.

The combined wealth of the 24 super billionaires amounts to approximately $3.3 trillion, comparable to the nominal GDP of France. Altrata notes that in the 19th and early 20th centuries, the richest individuals were industrialists, while most of today's super billionaires have amassed their wealth in the technology sector.
