The highway connecting Eastern and Western Georgia is paralyzed
The highway connecting Eastern and Western Georgia has been paralyzed in the Rikoti Pass due to heavy snow covering vehicles overnight. According to the Road Department, four cars were damaged; however, no injuries were reported, and everyone was able to exit their vehicles.
Traffic has been halted in the area, and cleaning operations are underway. It is worth noting that transportation activities have been restored in the Rikoti Pass, which connects Western and Eastern Georgia.
Additionally, it was reported yesterday by Vahan Hakobyan, the customs attaché of the Armenian Embassy in the Russian Federation, to Auroranews that traffic restrictions have been imposed on the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi highway, particularly in the Khashi Pass area, due to a high risk of avalanches affecting all types of vehicles.
