How Many Electric Cars Have Been Imported to Armenia This Year?

The State Revenue Committee has reported that according to decision N 134 of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission dated November 24, 2023, a quota of 8000 electric vehicles classified under customs code 8703 80 000 2 has been established for 0% import duty exemptions for the year 2025. This quota has been distributed by the Armenian government's decision N 1876-N dated November 28, 2024, as follows:

1. No more than 3000 vehicles can be imported tariff-free by entities conducting imports under a dealer-distributor agreement with the auto manufacturer.
2. No more than 5000 vehicles can be imported by entities (including individuals) not mentioned in the first point.

The Committee informs that as of February 23, 2025, there have been:

1. 426 units or around 14% of the distributed quota (3000 vehicles) imported by entities under a dealer-distributor agreement with the manufacturer.
2. 4499 units or about 90% of the distributed quota (5000 vehicles) imported by entities not mentioned in the first point.
