Car Falls into Pambak River, Casualty Reported
On February 24, at 11:49 AM, the crisis management center of the Lori regional rescue service received a report that a vehicle was spotted in the gorge along the Vanadzor-Alaverdi highway, in an area known as the 'Satan Bridge'.
A response team from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, along with two firefighting units, were dispatched to the scene.
It was discovered that, under yet undetermined circumstances, a Mercedes-Benz vehicle (driver A.G., born in 1992) had veered off the roadway at the 13th kilometer of the Vanadzor-Alaverdi highway and ended up in the Pambak River, resulting in a fatality.
Rescue workers retrieved the driver’s body from the gorge, located about 5 meters from the vehicle, and transferred it to a transport vehicle.
