German Chancellor Olaf Scholz attempted to buy weapons from Brazil to supply the Ukrainian armed forces, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva announced. He added that Brazil did not agree to the proposal and is not preparing to sell weapons to any party in the conflict.
“German Chancellor Olaf Scholz came to us once and tried to buy Brazilian weapons to provide them to Ukraine. I am not going to sell weapons to the Russians or to anyone else to kill,” Lula da Silva stated at a press conference with Portuguese Prime Minister Luís Montenegro.
According to Lula da Silva, Brazil will continue to maintain a neutral position and will not sell weapons for use in the Ukrainian conflict.
